Worst Possible Idea

Overview

The worst possible idea is a method to strain out bad ideas to uncover more innovative ones. This is a particularly helpful exercise for product managers working on projects without much direction.

Like Crazy 8's, the creativity faucet concept facilitates the success of this exercise.

To begin, share the topic with your focus group. Then, with any methods available, each person writes down as many bad ideas as possible, with the goal of getting to the Worst Possible Idea. A timer can be used. After the exercise, share with one another your worst ideas, a few of which may be processed into great ideas.
