Guerrilla Testing

Overview

Guerrilla Testing is a popular method among design teams to gain user feedback and unveil further issues.

The method itself is simple: go to a physical location with prospective users, and ask them to do an in-person survey, questionnaire, or usability test to gain insight.

The best guerrilla testers can engage strangers quickly, communicate concisely, and has planned out the next steps to keep the test moving smoothly.

Guerrilla testing is not a suitable substitute for user testing. While simple, it’s not a detailed methodology that guaranteed unbiased results.

However, product managers that are strict on budget, time, or in early-stage development can use it to roughly validate assumptions.
