Gamestorming

Overview

This page is a bit unlike the others. Gamestorming itself is a broad set of practices for conducting business analysis or ideation (brainstorming) through games (hence the name).

In general, there are facilitators and participants, who, by way of an organized game, generate and organize ideas around a central concept.

A book published on the concept by Dave Gray, Sunni Brown, and James Macanufo in 2010 includes more than 80 games that can be used for various types of business analysis. Whether it's breaking through a stagnant ideation phase, challenging existing processes, or prioritizing, gamestorming concepts have a ton of utility for product managers.

In a way, many ideas on this website contain elements of gamestorming. However, if you're interested in the specific games mentioned by the authors above, you can purchase a copy of the book here.
